Tory Burch SS18 Collection Photoshoot
A Sun Soaked Day With The Coolest Crew Ever!
Talk about an A-Team when it comes to talent on a photo shoot: I was thrilled to work with the crème de la crème of the fashion world on the Spring/Summer 18 (SS18) Collection for Tory Burch!
Hair by Orlando Pita, make-up by Aaron De Mey, and modeling by superstars Jean Cambell, Dree Hemingway, and Maartje Verhoef! All supported by a crew of almost 75 people and a smashing collection from Tory Burch! A complete dream day for a me as a photographer!
A Stellar Location
I was originally thrilled when I learned, weeks earlier, that I would be shooting Tory Burch's SS18 Collection - but when I arrived on location I was over the moon! It was a complete paradise: Golden Beach Florida.
A bright, sunny day, rich ocean vistas, and water with texture and movement! This was going to be a blast!
Daybreak
I arrived on location at sunrise to capture the gorgeous early light as the sun came up!
We had over 15 looks that we wanted to capture - so the crew were busy getting everyone primed for the camera. We knew the sunset was at 5:30 so we had a lot to shoot in a short day!
Tory Burch was soon on set, enjoying the ocean breeze and the tunes I had loaded up.
Celebration
It was Dree Hemingway's 30th birthday and I was excited to photograph her on the day she came into this word!
Before we even started the shoot - I told Dree that I wanted to capture her on this special day, one with nature.
She immediately bolted into the water, and struck the pose above. Kissing the universe and embracing nature. What a start to the day.
Our Special Guest...
Photographing animals can be challenging - but not when Fiona is on set. She was our special guest parrot - and this girl was a total hoot to work with! Well mannered, not very demanding, dazzling - and with the talent to strike a killer profile!
Tory was surrounded by birds in her childhood - so it was the right fit to have Fiona modeling on set! Plus she amped up the focus on nature and color! What a treat to have her.
Wallpaper Inspiration!
Creative Director and stylist Benjamin Bruno wanted to shoot Tory's divine designs in the natural environment, and didn't want it overly propped. Instead, we used the seascape, backgrounds, and foliage to compliment the David Hicks inspired patterns.
A Fearless Take
It was great to see how the images turned out at the end of the day – and to finally see them launched on Tory's website and in her stores.
I am a beach girl myself and I wanted things to look real, carefree and natural. I think these photographs captured that essence.
More than anything - this was an enriching experience for me: great talent on every level, breathtaking backdrops, and stunning designs. A totally amazing day!
